I don't think I've managed to put together wallpaper before, because I often become colossally lazy when it comes to backgrounds. If it makes you feel better, I tried to put some effort in the backdrop. I actually like the sketch in the corner more by itself, except I was deadset on a large, starry background. Nowhere near as cool as it was in my head, once again, but what's new?

Me being in one of my peculiar moods tends to get me to draw excessively glowy/starry/dark/whathaveyou art, regardless of whether I end up posting it here or (most often) not. Who doesn't love a star-motif, really?

I had some longer exposition on this thing planned out, but my eyes are burning from drawing. I was up all night! And I'll probably continue to stay up! Sleep? Who needs sleep?

Title I took from "Blue Orb" from the We Love Katamari OST (you can hear "...the stars..." being chanted during the end), because the originally picture I had set out to do was to be reflective of that song as a whole. Ended up being too ambitious for my current state of focus and concentration, so I downgraded the concept into something that wouldn't frustrate me five minutes into the sketch. I DO rather like the coloring, if anything. Don't like the eyes, though. Can't pull off those huge eyes, they're not quite in my style range.
