Princess Peach! And... a 1-up mushroom! Because I can?

How can you not like Peach, really? She's always so sweet and good-natured, even after Bowser captures her for the umpteenth time :giggle: Though I'm sure she gets all that pent-up frustration out through golf or tennis or baseball! (probably by beaning Bowser in the nose with the ball XD that happens a LOT in Mario Tennis, hmm...)

Yeeees, there are proportion/anatomy problems, but this was a random doodle I decided to ink/color for the heck of it! Although I wonder why I inked it in Photoshop; usually it's noticably messier than my openCanvas attempts. No matter! Be distracted by the coloring! It's so bright and shiiiny!

I tried a sort of cell-shaded method with the colors here, by using the polygonal lasso tool, gradient fills and a bit of the smudge tool. What do you think? It's a good way to brighten up the picture, anyway!

Ahh, The Background, my arch-nemesis! (actually, that's a lie; my arch-nemesis is the terracotta pot hanging from the ceiling of my dad's office) I wanted it to look vaugely painted, but it looks a little sloppy ^^; whoops.

By the way! Question for you guys! I was thinking as I was working on this, would any of you be interested in a tutorial? Such as how I go through a picture from start to finish? Of course, my methods aren't always consistent (especially with the coloring; I'll often vary my technique with every picture), so be warned. If there's a piece in my gallery where the style/colors especially interest you, let me know. I can't make any promises! But if enough people threaten me for a tutorial, I'll make one.

Don't you just love the noise that 1-up mushrooms make? Such a reassuring fanfare! Of course, in video games I'd much rather have some sort of health pickup over a 1-up (who wants to restart the level?) unless my health was already full %D
